Free Anti-HPV (Papilloma Virus) Vaccination Campaign

In collaboration with the Lombardy Region and the relevant local Health Authority (ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo), starting in March 2026, Bocconi University will host a free vaccination campaign against the Papilloma Virus (HPV), with vaccinations administered on campus.

Why this matters

HPV infection is very common and is transmitted through sexual intercourse or contact. It is responsible for almost all cervical cancers and can also be associated with other HPV-related diseases (e.g. warts), involving both men and women. In addition, HPV-associated cancers do not only affect the uterine cervix: they can also affect the vulva, vagina, penis and anus. HPV vaccination is not mandatory, but strongly recommended.

The Lombardy Region has extended free access to the HPV vaccine up to the age of 26 (26 years and 364 days) and offers it to both women and men who hold a valid Italian health card.

Please be aware that the administration schedule requires 3 DOSES to be completed within a maximum of 1 year.

How it works at Bocconi

  • Where: At dedicated spaces on campus
  • When: Starting in March (detailed calendar and availability will be communicated at a later date)
  • Booking: A booking system will be available after the closing of pre-registrations (links and instructions coming soon)
  • Reception and safety: A pre-vaccination triage will be completed prior to administration; in the event of concerns or precautions, the physician in charge of the vaccination session will intervene.

Administration schedule (in summary)

  • 3 doses (recommended time between doses: 0+2+4 months, but NOT MORE THAN one year). Example: first dose in March, second dose in May, third dose in September.

You are eligible to participate if:

  • you are under the expected age range (26 + 364 days) to receive the administration of the first dose in March 2026
  • you have never received a vaccination against papilloma virus
  • you hold an Italian National Health Service (SSN) health card
  • you know you will be able to receive the other two doses (in May and September)
