IGIER Celebrates 35 Years of Economic Insight
The Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER) at Bocconi University celebrates today its 35th anniversary, marking more than three decades of influential scholarship, international collaboration, and evidence-based policy impact. Since its founding, IGIER has become a hub for economists and social scientists seeking to address global challenges with rigor and openness.
To honor this milestone, a special video features founders Mario Monti, Francesco Giavazzi, and current IGIER director Thomas Le Barbanchon in a conversation led by IGIER affiliate Alexia Delfino that reflects on IGIER’s origins, its evolution, and the directions it aims to pursue in the years ahead. Their dialogue offers an insider’s view of how the institute has shaped academic thought and public debate—and how it plans to continue doing so.
CEMS Annual Event 2025: A Global Community United in Rio
Held from 3–6 December in Rio de Janeiro, the CEMS Annual Event 2025 brought together students, alumni, academics, faculty, and corporate partners for four days of networking, dialogue, and cultural exchange. The highlight of the gathering was the Graduation Ceremony, which celebrated over 400 CEMS MIM graduates from around the world and was enriched by interactive workshops, inspiring talks, and dedicated networking sessions. During the ceremony, Bocconi received the “Global Citizenship Seminar of the Year” award, recognising the best seminar among the 33 schools in the CEMS network. The event was hosted by Fundação Getulio Vargas, whose longstanding partnership with Bocconi dates back to 1978.
