Prerequisite for curricular exams (only for students enrolled up to 2025-2026 a.y. included)

Please note: Students enrolled up to and including the 2025–2026 academic year are required to obtain the full ECDL/ICDL certification (ICDL Full Standard or ECDL Core), or one of the equivalent certifications recognized by the University, as a prerequisite for registering for the Computer Science, Legal Tech, or IT for Law examinations (second midterm exam or final examination).

This requirement no longer applies; therefore, students may register for the above-mentioned examinations even if they have not previously obtained the certification, in the following cases:

• All students enrolled from the 2026–2027 academic year onwards;
• Students enrolled in the CLMG and BGL degree programs in the 2025–2026 academic year.
   

Certifications Recognized as a Prerequisite

In order to register for the Computer Science, Informatica per Giurisprudenza, Legal Tech, Computer Skills, and Informatica per l'Economia (general exam) courses, students must have obtained, by the deadlines indicated in the tables at the bottom of this page, one of the following basic IT certifications:

• ECDL/ICDL Full Standard
• ECDL/ICDL Standard or ECDL Core (7 modules)
• IC3 2005 Plus, IC3 GS3, IC3 GS4, or IC3 GS5

The following advanced certifications are also accepted as alternatives to the basic certifications:

• ECDL/ICDL Expert (obtained by achieving the three Advanced certifications: Advanced Word Processing, Advanced Spreadsheets, and Advanced Presentation)
• MCAS Master
• MOS Master (Office 2016) or MOS Expert (3 MOS Associate exams + 2 MOS Expert exams for Office 2019)

Bocconi University is an accredited ICDL Test Center, and students may therefore complete or obtain the ICDL certification directly at the University.

Once obtained, the certification must be recorded in the student’s academic record as a prerequisite by the IT Education Center. In particular, the following procedures apply:

• ICDL Certifications Obtained in Italy
  
  If the certification is an ECDL/ICDL Standard, ECDL/ICDL Full Standard, or ECDL Core certification obtained in Italy, the prerequisite is recorded automatically and no documentation needs to be submitted.
   
• ICDL Certifications Obtained Abroad
  
  For ECDL/ICDL certifications obtained abroad, either entirely or partially, students must contact the IT Education Center through the B in Touch procedure available in their yoU@B Diary by the deadlines indicated in the tables at the bottom of this page. The following documents must be submitted:
  - the certificate;
  - a document showing the details of the modules completed.
  To be recognized as a valid prerequisite, an ICDL certification obtained abroad must include all the seven modules corresponding to the ICDL program adopted in Italy.
   

• Other Recognized Certifications

  Students holding an ECDL/ICDL Expert, IC3 2005 plus, IC3 GS3, GS4 or GS5, MOS Master or MCAS Master, must contact the IT Education Center through the B in Touch procedure available in their yoU@B Diary by and no later than the deadlines indicated in the tables below and provide:
  - the certification in .pdf format;
  - their Skills Card number (where applicable) 
   

Registration Timeline

Prerequisites are recorded by the ITEC staff on a weekly basis.

Whenever an ICDL completion deadline falls within a given week, prerequisite registration will take place on the morning following that deadline.

If the prerequisite is not obtained by the deadlines indicated in the tables below, it will not be possible to register for the corresponding exam session.
