Course Reserves (Textbooks)
The Course Reserves service offers easy access to relevant resources selected by instructors for their courses. Whether you are preparing for an upcoming exam or assigning weekly readings, you can find all the required content in one place: Course Reserves, the Library tool integrated with Blackboard.
For Students
Access your reading list directly from your course page on Blackboard. In each list, you will find:
- Books and eBooks available at the Library
- Articles, case studies and book chapters in full text
Why use it?
- No need to search on SearchLib: everything is ready to use. Each list includes direct links to Library-subscribed online resources, along with details on the location and number of available copies for printed materials
- Easy access from any device, on campus and from home
For more information, take a look at our dedicated libguide or watch the videos below.
Where can I find textbooks and other print course materials required for exams?
If online versions of required resources cannot be purchased, the Library will acquire print copies and make them available in a dedicated open-shelf area: the Course Reserves (Textbooks) Collection, located near the Information Desk.
How long can I borrow course materials?
To make course materials easy to find, we use a color-coded system and special call numbers:
- Green sticker: borrowable for 2 weeks, renewable once for 1 additional week.
- Red sticker: not loanable, Library-use only.
Will I find all essential readings in the Course Reserves Collection?
The Library works actively to ensure that all required textbooks are available in the Course Reserves (Textbooks) Collection. We review and update the collection at the beginning of each academic year, checking both availability and physical condition of materials.
But if you notice something is missing, please get in touch at infobiblio@unibocconi.it so we can look into it.
How can I check if a required reading is available at the Library?
Just follow these steps:
1. Login to Blackboard with your Bocconi credentials and access one of your courses
2. Click on the Course Reserves tool
You’ll be able to:
- Browse your class’ reading list
- Download or read online resources
- Check the availability of print copies and request them

You can access the Library Course Reserves through your course page on Blackboard. The Library is here to support you at every step: please refer to the dedicated Libguide for full details.
To schedule a training session or for further assistance, contact: coursereserves@unibocconi.it.
How it works:
1. The Library creates reading lists for all courses offered in the Undergraduate, Graduate, and Law programs.
2. Instructors can enrich the lists by adding resources from the Library collections or importing citations from RefWorks.
3. Instructors may also request new acquisitions or licensing for additional relevant materials.
4. The Library makes all course materials available through the reading list, including online and print resources.
5. Reading lists are published and integrated into each course’s Blackboard page.
6. Students access and use materials from any device, both on campus and remotely.
