HPC

Bocconi University provides access to High Performance Computing (HPC) resources to all faculty members, supporting the research community for those computations that cannot be performed on a local/personal machines. 
 

The facility is currently built with 24 nodes interconnected with a special high-speed Infiniband network, with 752 cores, 16 NVIDIA A100 80GB PCIe GPUs, 8 NVIDIA H100 NVL GPUs, 16 NVIDIA H200 NVL GPUs, 20TB of RAM and about 250TB of storage.

Four nodes, each equipped with four NVIDIA A100 80GB PCIe GPUs and currently configured with NVIDIA Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) are dedicated to students.
The Technology team provides training workshops and support for researchers by simple email request to hpc@unibocconi.it.

Access to the HPC Cluster is provided to Bocconi researchers and students by contacting hpc@unibocconi.it as follows:

• Bocconi Research HPC : Access restricted to researchers and collaborators approved by senior Faculty members
• Bocconi Students HPC : General purpose Student access

Every student can immediately get access to the HPC for Students, that comes with some restrictions in terms of storage and partitions. 

Access to the Research HPC cluster for students is contingent upon explicit confirmation from the project's Principal Investigator (a senior Bocconi Faculty member). This confirmation must specify the anticipated expiration date of the student's collaboration.

Please also specify whether the use of the cluster is for institutional purposes (for example, research carried out using Bocconi internal funds or funding from Italian/European institutional bodies) or for commercial activities (for example, projects financed by private companies from which the University or the research group receives direct financial compensation).

To initiate the process, please submit your request to hpc@unibocconi.it, copying the Principal Investigator on the email to facilitate their confirmation.
