Students with Disabilities

The University has provided accommodations in each residence hall designed to assist students with disabilities. Those with 66% disability or greater have priority in the allocation of housing over other students.

The University provides technologies that support classroom learning and individual study, including Sensus Access (for converting documents into accessible alternative formats) and the Blackboard Ally plug-in, in addition to textbooks in digital format.

Regarding exams, compensatory and dispensatory measures are assigned according to medical documentation, which may include extra time or the use of calculators or a computer.

For more information, see the Compensatory/Dispensatory Measures During Exams: Initial Request, Types and Deadlines paragraph of the Guides to the University.

The Library offers dedicated services to guarantee access to information and to provide accessible spaces, as well as reserved priority seating. In addition, it is an institution authorized by the Italian Ministry of Culture to produce accessible digital copies of works protected by copyright for people with neurological, visual or motor disabilities.

A transfer service provides home-university transport for students, staff and faculty with motor disabilities.

Properly trained service animals can accompany people with motor disabilities, sensory disabilities, psychiatric disorders or serious illnesses on campus.

The Study Abroad office examines the specific needs of every student with disabilities who may be interested in participating in an exchange program, collaborating with partner universities to identify the available services in terms of accessibility and support.

The Disabilities and Work (DAL) Service supports people with disabilities when looking for internship and job opportunities. The Service organizes one-on-one counseling meetings, monitors application processes, and is the point of contact for employers seeking candidates in this category.
