Early traineeship for Bar Examination (legal profession)
As of 20 February 2018, during the final year of
studies, it is possible to carry out 6 of the total of 18 months
of training prescribed by the aw to access the Bar Exam.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO
THE ADVANCE TRAINEESHIP
Students meeting
the following requirements may be admitted to the advance traineeship:
- enrollment
 in the fifth year (not an out-of-program year) of the Integrated Master of Arts
 Degree in Law;
- possession
 of credits in the following disciplinary sectors: Private Law (IUS/01), Civil
 Procedural Law (IUS/15), Criminal Law (IUS/17), Criminal Procedural Law
 (IUS/16), Administrative Law (IUS/10), Constitutional Law (IUS/08), European
 Union Law (IUS 14);
- Possession
 and registration in curriculum of studies of the credits for all 1st,
 2nd and 3rd year instructional activities.
Moreover:
- for
 students not having effected a period of study abroad in the 4th
 year: possession and registration in curriculum of studies of the credits for
 all 4th year instructional activities.
- for
 students having effected a “lengthy” period of study abroad (at least one term)
 in the 4th year: possession and registration in curriculum of
 studies of at least 60 credits for all 4th or 5th year
 instructional activities.
CONDITIONS OF VALIDITY
In order for the
advance traineeship to be valid, the following conditions must be met:
- obtaining
 of initial authorization;
- duration
 of at least 6 calendar months, and of at least 288 hours, with the student’s
 attendance at a minimum of 12 court hearings. If the student graduates before the end of such 6
 month period, the advance
 traineeship will be valid if it has been of a duration of at least 5 months
 and, in any event, of at least 288 hours;
- obtaining
 of final validation;
- graduation
 not later than 12 months from the end of the advance traineeship;
- confirmation
 of recording in the register of trainee attorneys within ninety days from
 graduation (the degree certificate or an equivalent document must be presented
 to the Bar association – Ordine di
 avvocati).
Furthermore, the traineeship must always be formalized as an internship.
