Specific Emotional and Psychological Support for those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria at Bocconi
As you know, our University stands by the communities affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and is committed to supporting students and all members of our community affected by this tragic event.
Aware of the difficulty of the moment, we have decided to offer some resources to emotionally support those who have been directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy.
Available support includes the following:
Group Meeting: Managing Stress from a Critical Event
Friday 17 February at 4:00pm (online)
Please sign up for the activity via yoU@B Student Diary > Sign up for Various Activity.
Psycho-educational group meeting aimed at providing tools to recognize the possible reactions that people affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria may be experiencing at this time.
Traumatic events can indeed make one vulnerable, potentially overwhelming the normally effective coping skills of an individual or group. These are situations that can result in a feeling of vulnerability and/or lack of control.
The normal post-traumatic stress response in its various phases will be addressed and individual and group resources will be reinforced.
Speaker: Dr. Simona Anselmetti, Psychotherapist, EMDR Supervisor and Facilitator.
*In collaboration with Centro di Ricerche e Studi in Psicotraumatologia and EMDR Italia (Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
Individual Counseling
Students who feel the need for discussion and individual support (in particular following the group meeting) can make an appointment with the Bocconi Counseling Service: individual meetings will be run by Psychologists with training in EMDR (Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), who works with the Bocconi Counseling Service.
Appointments can be made by emailing counseling@unibocconi.it and asking to schedule an appointment.
We also remind you that, on Tuesday 14 February at 1pm in the park of the new campus area at Via Sarfatti 10, a meeting with students, staff and faculty will be held to show support to the members of our community belonging to the populations affected by the earthquake. Everyone is invited to participate in this event.
