Double Degree – Incoming students at Bocconi

The Double Degree program offers undergraduate or graduate
students coming from prestigious Partner Universities the possibility to
spend one year at Bocconi, acquiring core knowledge and skills. Provided that
both institutions' academic requirements have been met, participants will
receive undergraduate or graduate degrees both from Bocconi and the Home
institution.

Important: students who applied to Bocconi directly and Italian Bachelor
graduates will not be accepted into the Double Degree Program.

Double Degree students are considered as regularly enrolled Bocconi
students and they have to comply with all Bocconi rules and regulations, but
some exceptions may apply. Double Degree students are exempted from paying the
university tuition fees and cannot apply for Bocconi scholarships.

STEP 1 – Once you have been nominated by your Home
School, you will be asked to apply online at Bocconi and obtain your Bocconi Acceptance letter, following
the instructions you will receive via
e-mail. This generally happens in May, prior to the start of the Bocconi
academic year.

STEP 2 – if you are coming from extra-EU countries,
this guided
procedure will help you understand if you need to apply for a VISA
based on your nationality, country of residence, reasons for your visit and
length of stay. If needed, extra-EU students have to complete a 2-step
application:

2.1. pre-register on the Universitaly portal (mandatory to
apply for the VISA). We recommend that you start the procedure after
downloading the Bocconi Acceptance Letter within the application.

2.2. Apply for the study VISA: follow the instructions
provided on the website of the Consulate where you are going to apply. Once in
Italy, all extra-EU students will have to obtain the Permit of Stay (in
Italian: Permesso di Soggiorno). Further info available at this link.

STEP 3 – extra-EU students must have health insurance
coverage with international validity while studying in Italy to be approved for
the permit of stay. EU students are required to have the European Health
Insurance Card or a similar private insurance policy with international
validity to benefit from health service coverage.

STEP 4 – Housing needed? places at University Housing are limited and assigned
on a first-come-first-served basis. More information on how to apply will be
sent directly to students. For private Housing: students are responsible for
securing their own accommodation.

Before the beginning of the academic year at Bocconi,
Double Degree students receive a tailored and individual study plan. The study
plan is based on the Double Degree agreement between Bocconi University and
Home Schools and it is approved by the Director of the Master of Science
program in which students are enrolled at Bocconi.

The study plan may include a mix of courses of the 1°
and the 2° year of the Bocconi MSc program, according to the courses' matching
between Bocconi and Home School. Bocconi credit system is ECTS equivalent.

Before the beginning of the academic year, you will be
asked – if foreseen by your individual study plan – to choose your electives at
Bocconi, with the possibility to change 2°

semester electives
during the “add/drop period” in January.

have successfully fulfilled all mandatory components of the Bocconi study
plan, and to provide copy of your Bachelor degree/authorization letter from
your Home School.

INTERNSHIP: Internship is a mandatory element of the Bocconi study plan to receive
the Bocconi MSc Degree. Check out in the dedicated webpages Bocconi information on standard requirements and validation rules, and
discover the many services, tools and recruiting events to find interesting job
opportunities in Italy or abroad. Please consider that previously completed
internships/working experiences may be validated, if in line with the student’s
course of study/duration requirements.

LANGUAGES: the Bocconi
study plan requires to pass two foreign language exams at Bocconi. The first
foreign language will be English (exit level: C1 Business); the second language
will be Italian (exit level: A2) while native Italian speakers can decide
between French, German and Spanish (exit level: B1 Business). The Bocconi
Language Center may recognize home school exams and international certificates:

Minimum language requirements:

MSc students (non-Italian
native speakers):

• Professional English seminar – exit level C1 Business
  (2 ECTS) - (pass/fail) –> mandatory also for native speakers
• Italian – exit level A2 (4 ECTS) - (grade out of 30)

MSc students (Italian
native speakers):

• Professional English seminar – exit level C1 Business
  (2 ECTS)
• French/Spanish/German – exit level B1 Business (4
  ECTS)

BSc students (non-Italian
native speakers):

• English – exit level C1 (4 ECTS) - (grade out of 30)
• Italian – exit
  level A2 (4 ECTS) - (grade out of 30)

THESIS: as well as all Bocconi regular students, Double Degree students are required to write
a thesis (weighted 18/20 ECTS for MSc, and 3 ECTS for BSc). The MSc thesis can
be one of the following two types: research thesis or analytical/descriptive
thesis and students are also required to defend it before a Degree Assessment
Board on the very day of their graduation (no defense foreseen for BSc
students). The thesis is the result of an individual research work carried out
under the supervision of a Bocconi thesis advisor.

For the Thesis requirements of your Home University,
please remember to directly check with your Home School about specific
requirements, that may vary with the Bocconi ones (for some Home schools a
research thesis is mandatory to get the degree).
