Piet Mondrian - From figuration to abstraction

The exhibition that brought to Milan for the first time a project entirely dedicated to this Dutch artist and to the evolutionary artistic process which took him from figuration to abstraction, from the tradition of the Dutch landscape to the development of his unique style, which made him recognizable and universally famous.

Visitors will be offered a visual and therefore immediate interpretation of the artist’s stylistic evolution. A section of the exhibition will be dedicated to “De Stijl” (or “Neoplasticism”), a movement that arose in the Netherlands in 1917, on the initiative of Mondrian himself and of Theo van Doesburg and still active on the threshold of the Thirties, which innovated art, architecture and design.

The exhibition will display masterpieces coming from important museums and private collections.
