The financial situation in Europe, the link between systemic risk and structural questions and the creation of a sustainable system of growth in Europe, before widening the view to the challenges and outlook of the US and the emerging economies. This will be the path followed by speech of Michael Spence, winner of the Nobel prize in Economics in 2001, guest of the first edition of Bocconi-Boroli Lecture (24th May, 6pm, aula magna, via Gobbi 5).
The Bocconi-Boroli Lecture is the new dedication of the Bocconi Lecture, a cycle of conferences created to honor the memory of Ferdinando Bocconi, founder of the University, to host every year a scholar of economics and social sciences who has distinguished themselves at international level for the innovative reach of his studies. Now, thanks to the financing of the Fondazione Achille e Giulia Boroli the lecture will be dedicated to Achille Boroli, who like Ferdinando Bocconi made Italian entrepreneurship and social progress among the foundations of his life.
This year's speaker will be Spence, professor at the Stern School of Business and the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University e professor at SDA Bocconi, with his speech 'Structural Challenges, Systemic Risk and Multiple Equilibria in Europe and in the Global Economy'.
