Anna Omarini Joins the Bank of England’s Payments Academic Advisory Group
Anna Omarini, of the Department of Finance at Bocconi University, has been appointed to the Bank of England’s Payments Academic Advisory Group (PAAG), a forum that brings together international academics and experts to contribute to the debate on the future of payment systems.
The PAAG was established as part of the United Kingdom’s National Payments Vision with the goal of supporting, through a multidisciplinary and evidence-based approach, the Bank of England’s deliberations on the key challenges of innovation in payments. The group addresses topics such as digital transformation, new payment infrastructures, technological innovation, competition, regulatory issues, and user behavior.
For Anna Omarini, who has been engaged for years in research on FinTech, digital banking, open finance, and innovation in payment services, participation in the PAAG represents an important recognition of her scientific contributions in these fields. Her presence on the group also confirms the role of Bocconi’s research in the international dialogue on the evolution of the financial system and the policies that will guide the future of digital payments.
