Ferrari General Reporter in Taiwan
Giuseppe Franco Ferrari (Department of Law) will be general reporter at the next congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law.
The congress, dedicated to the theme "Codification", is being held at the National Taiwan University campus, from May 24th to 26th.
The academics of comparative law from the main Universities of the world will take part in the event and will submit their studies on civil, public and penal law.
As general reporter, Ferrari will summarize comparative law's trends on the assigned issue, with a survey done in the comparative perspective, and he will intervene in the afternoon session of Thursday 24th, entitled "The Codification of Human Rights at the National and International Levels" and chaired by John Langbein, from Yale University.
The International Academy of Comparative Law, founded in 1924 in The Hague, the seat of the Permanent Court of International Justice, pursues the comparative study of legal systems with the aim of disseminating its results world-wide; it is organized in national committees which represent the institution in more than 50 countries and it aims to be a world-wide point of reference for academics and scholars in comparative law.
The Academy organizes one International Congress every four years and some intermediate meetings every two years, dedicated to a specific theme. Taiwan 2012 is the second Thematic Congress of the International Academy of Comparative Law, preceded by Mexico 2008, dedicated to the theme "The Impact of Uniform Law on Nation Law".
