ASK to help evaluate cultural heritage
Output evaluation and transparency are perhaps the most important issues in transforming today's public administration in Italy and a framework agreement recently signed by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, through its secretary general Roberto Cecchi, and the Bocconi Research Center on Economics and Management for Arts and Culture (ASK) looks at just these topics. The collaboration will have ASK Bocconi perform a series of research projects and examinations on the two issues of transparency and performance evaluation. The first two Research Center's tasks will take a look at unspent surpluses (cash in hand) of supervision and the issue of output evaluation processes of Regional management and Italian museum branches.
The second point in particular will allow for the development of indicators "capable of evaluating the use of the preservation and development of Italian cultural heritage," as Stefano Baia Curioni, Vice President of the ASK Center explains. "This is an important agreement with Ministry top management," continues Baia Curioni, "that represents an opportunity for Bocconi to examine the crucial issue of artistic heritage as well as an opportunity to increase our web of collaborations with the community".
