Zurich Supports the Alma Mater with an Eye to the New Campus

It's not about individuals, but the whole group of Bocconi alumni in Zurich: this time it's the whole chapter of the Bocconi Alumni Association (BAA) in the German-speaking Swiss city which has decided to support the alma mater Bocconi by supporting one of the projects that are part of the University's fundraising campaign named 'A Fossible Challenge'. It has done so by choosing to devote the whole surplus generated by good management of the chapter's assets to fund new spaces for alumni in the new campus area of the University, the big facility under construction on the land that used to host Milan's central milk plant.

The leader of the group, Omar Misuraca, emerging markets trader at UBS bank and head of the Zurich Chapter for several years now, explains the reasons for their gesture: "We wanted our support to go to something very concrete, tangible, that would last over time," says the alum. "We really like the idea of being able to contribute to the growth of the Bocconi community." Misuraca argues that it is not only a question to sustain future generations of Bocconians, but the very Bocconi name: "Expat alumni like us who live and work abroad are the first ambassadors of the Bocconi brand. As a result, we want to give our contribution to make the university constantly grow and improve, since by doing so, Bocconi acquires an increasingly important presence and weight in the countries where we alumni operate. "
