Bocconi’s Presence at the World Athletics Race Walking Championships

Two Bocconi athletes, past and present, Eleonora Giorgi and Sofia Fiorini, will be among the members of the team representing Italy on Sunday, April 12, at the World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships taking place in Brasília. Together with Lidia Barcelli and Federica Curiazzi, they will compete in the new marathon event, which will start at 11:45 a.m. CET.

Eleonora Giorgi, from Milan, born in 1989, holds a bachelor’s degree from Bocconi in Business Administration and Management and a master’s degree in Economics and Management of Public Administrations. She won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, has competed in four Olympic Games, is the veteran of the group, and still holds the European record for the 50km distance.

Sofia Fiorini, 21, from Arezzo, is enrolled in the Bachelor’s program in Business Administration and Management. She recently became Italian champion in both the marathon and half marathon and is at her first international events with the senior national team.
