The Rector Meets the Alumni of New York

, by Tomaso Eridani
On Monday evening a meeting at the Italian Consulate with the participation also of Tommaso Nannicini to discuss the crisis of trust in Europe

Meeting the alumni, getting to know them and sharing with them projects and objectives is one of the missions that Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi, embarked on since the beginning of his mandate last November 1. And so one year on from that promise, next Monday, October 30, he returns to New York to meet the alumni in another stage of his voyage after Boston, Paris, Barcelona and London.

The occasion is an evening organized at the Italian Consulate, on Park Avenue, where welcoming the Bocconians, more than 125 present, will be the Consul General of Italy in New York, Francesco Genuardi.

"The meetings with our alumni are always very stimulating because they open up a different perspective," explains the Rector. "The strength of a university like Bocconi is in its community and for this reason we must work together to strengthen our ties with alumni, faculty and students so that there is a continuous exchange of ideas and opportunities."

With Verona will also be present Stefano Caselli, Dean for International Affairs, and Tommaso Nannicini, Professor of Political Economy at Bocconi and Visiting Professor at Harvard University, who will talk on the topic "Europe's Trust Crisis and the (Best) Response to Populism".

The Bocconi community in the US counts over 2,000 alumni concentrated in particular in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco and Washington.
