One of the most prestigious journals worldwide in the statistical sciences

Daniele Durante, of the Department of Decision Sciences at Bocconi University and affiliated to the BIDSA research center, has joined the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B: Statistical Methodology (JRSS-B), one of the most prestigious international journals in statistical methodology and, more broadly, Data Science.

Founded in 1934 by the Royal Statistical Society, the journal has published throughout its history methodological contributions of extraordinary influence, including foundational papers such as those introducing the EM algorithm and the Lasso. “JRSS-B stands out as a leading journal at the forefront of methodological and theoretical foundations in the Statistical Sciences,” says Durante “and its Editorial Board brings together some of the most influential academic experts in the field. I am honored to have been selected to join this distinguished scientific community.”

In addition to JRSS-B, Durante has also been serving since 2019 in the Editorial Board of Biometrika, another leading international journal in the Statistical Sciences. “Serving as Associate Editor for two of the four most authoritative journals in statistics worldwide entails significant commitment, dedication, and scientific responsibility. I view these roles also as a form of giving-back to two journals that, over the years, have published articles which deeply inspired my own research.”
