Bocconi opens its doors to the talents of the future

, by Barbara Orlando
Open Day returns on May 17: financial aid, internationalization, and interdisciplinary programs are at the heart of the educational offering. Rector Billari: “Inclusion is the key to our idea of excellence.”

At a time when universities are called upon to develop not only skills but also visions, Bocconi's Open Day is much more than just an information day. On May 17, the university will welcome students and families to learn about its educational project: a rigorous, international academic offering that is increasingly focused on social inclusion.

The day will focus on presentations of bachelor's and law degree programs, testimonials from alumni and students, campus tours, and interviews with faculty and staff.

“Today, educating the younger generation means not only transferring knowledge, but also cultivating critical thinking, a global vision and social responsibility,” says Rector Francesco Billari. “Access to higher education must be guaranteed to all talented individuals, regardless of their background. That is why we have strengthened our Bocconi4Access to Education program, which is a pillar of our commitment to a more equitable society.”

The program offers scholarships and financial aid covering up to 100% of university fees, based on merit and financial need. One in three students benefit from this every year, with a tangible impact on the social and geographical diversity of the Bocconi community.

Alongside the theme of accessibility, the Open Day is an opportunity to showcase a range of programs designed to address the challenges of a changing world. From economics to finance, management to law, and social sciences, Bocconi's bachelor programs are distinguished by their multidisciplinary approach, strong international outlook, and focus on innovation.

“Today, it is no longer enough to learn 'what' to do, but it is essential to understand 'why' and with whom,'” observes Chiara Fumagalli, Dean of the Undergraduate School. ”University education must be a transformative experience. That is why we work to integrate rigorous teaching, international openness, and a strong sense of purpose: we want our students to be not only well-prepared professionals, but also informed citizens.”

Particular attention will also be paid to law degree programs, which combine an Italian and European curriculum with an openness to globalized law. “Bocconi trains lawyers who are capable of tackling the major transnational challenges of our time: from the transition to digital to sustainability and new models of corporate and institutional governance,” says Law School Dean Pietro Sirena. “Traditional legal professions are now being joined by new professional profiles in the fields of compliance and international relations.”

Those who register for the Open Day can also book an online simulation of the admission test, available between May 21 and 23. This is a concrete opportunity to test your preparation: on May 19, you will receive an email with the credentials to access the platform.

The Open Day will also be available online, via live streaming, to allow those who cannot be in Milan to participate.
