BAA: Bianca is Now the Student Leader on Campus
Bianca Maria Bettoli , currently doing her first year in the Master of Science in International Management, is the new Vice-President of the Bocconi Alumni Association (BAA) for the Bocconi Campus. In Bianca's life, two experiences were revealing according to her. In high school, she was elected student representative for three years in a row. "When I was elected I was the youngest in the role, as all the other reps were last-year students," the Bocconi grad recalls. She was also an exchange student in Vancouver last year. "I found myself immersed in an international community where, although we didn't know each other at first, there immediately was a feeling of being part of a positive environment, the same kind of atmosphere I found within the Bocconi Alumni Association".
It's this sense of community, which she already nurtured in high school, that Bianca wants to foster among his university peers. She's just been appointed and so her plans are still being drafted, but she's very clear on her priorities: "In the next two years, I will work toward increasing the awareness among students of the importance of being part of the BAA, especially for the opportunities for social networking the association offers".
Bianca, born in Bologna 22 years ago, decided to take the leap on October 16, when Giuseppe Sala, the Expo Commissioner, delivered his acceptance speech as Bocconian of the Year 2015. "His speech was highly motivating and in that moment I felt the power of being part of the Bocconi Alumni community." The strength of the alumni community is one of the reasons that made her chose BAA instead of one the 80 Bocconi student associations: "It is not fragmented along political lines and really speaks to all."
Working closely with Bianca, just like with her predecessor Tudor Carstoiu, there will be a team of ambassadors, for a total of 20 students. "Among them there will be six head ambassadors, responsible for graduate, undergraduate, and law students, and for sports, topics, and media, respectively".
