Awarded the Abravanel-D'Agnese Fellowships
Thanks to the donation of their royalties from their book 'Regole' (rules), Roger Abravanel and Luca D'Agnese have created two research fellowships, the Abravanel-D'Agnese Doctoral Fellowships for the Bocconi PhD School, won respectively by Felix Suntheim and Addis Birhanu.
The book, published last year, is focused on the importance for a society to give itself rules, and to respect them, for its own social and economic development and the two authors expressed the desire that the fellowships go in support of PhD theses on the subject of the governance of the economy and society. The fellowships have been assigned by a committee set up by the PhD school in which Abravanel and D'Agnese participated.
The winners are Felix Suntheim, German, in the final year of his PhD in Finance, who is working on his thesis on the behavior of boards of directors, in terms of governance and transparency, and Addis Birhanu, Ethiopian, in the third year of her PhD in Business administration and management, for her project for a thesis on the subject of corruption and the behavior of companies in Africa.
The two students will now present their research and projects in a seminar meeting organized by the PhD School with Abravanel and D'Agnese participating too. The students will then have to regularly update the two donors, always in a seminar, about the progress of their work.
