On June 23, at the OECD headquarters in Paris, Alberto Monti, Associate Professor of Comparative Private Law at Bocconi, presented a report on the current situation in Chile containing a proposal for implementing strategies, through legal and institutional reforms, to improve the financial management of future risks. Monti's report, titled "Policy Framework for the Improvement of Financial Management Strategies to Cope with Large-Scale Catastrophes in Chile", opened the session "High-Level Roundtable on the Financial Management of Earthquakes", (June 23-24). The roundtable was held in order to address the request of a policy advice on the financial management of catastrophic risk, following the massive earthquake that devastated the country in 2010.
