Timeline: Preparing your Exchange
October and November: join our Drop-in sessions and presentations!
From the end of October to the end of November, our office will be available during specific time slots to support students with any questions about the Exchange Program.
You will receive a notification in your agenda with the exact dates and times.
GPA & Credits
Check that your GPA and number of credits meet the minimum academic requirement and allow you to apply for the Exchange Program.
Language requirements
Make sure you meet the language requirements and verify if you need to submit a language certificate.
Explore the destinations
Explore the destinations to check if you meet the requirements for the ones you are most interested in.
The destinations currently listed refer to the previous selection. The updated list for the next academic year will be available in mid February, you can take the current one as a point of reference.
Scholarships
Check for the scholarships within and outside Europe.
Passport
Make sure your passport is valid according to your destination. It must remain valid for at least six months after the end of the Exchange Program, so check its validity in advance.

Timeline: Your Exchange Application
25 February 2026 - The application opens
Check the destinations you are interested in, upload the certificates if necessary and apply for the Exchange Program!
03 March 2026 - The application closes at 3 pm (Italian time)
Make sure to submit your documents and complete your application before the deadline!
Results
Results will be announced between the end of March and the beginning of April.
You will be notified via your Bocconi email.
Accept
Once selected, you will have a few days to accept or decline your Exchange offer.
Remember to respect the deadline, otherwise you will be withdrawn from the Exchange.
Erasmus+
Erasmus+ scholarship is automatically assigned to students selected for destinations within the Erasmus+ Program.
You will be contacted by the relevant office in due time with details about the required procedures.

During the application process to the partner university, you may be asked to provide some documents that you can download independently.

Discovering the Next Steps After the Selection
Wait to be contacted by the partner school
After being selected, please wait to be contacted directly by your host university.
Students nominated for the first semester are usually contacted between April and May, while those nominated for the second semester are generally contacted between August and September.
Timelines may vary depending on the partner university.
Pre-departure recognition
Before your exchange starts, please ensure that all the courses you intend to take abroad are approved on the Recognition Platform.
You will receive detailed instructions by email as soon as you have been granted access to the Recognition Platform.
Erasmus+
If you have been selected for an Erasmus+ destination, you will receive specific guidelines by our office regarding:
- The Mobility Agreement
- The Online Learning Agreement

VISA
If you are going abroad, you may need to apply for a student visa.
Check the host university website and the country’s consulate or embassy for updated requirements.
The application process can take time, so start early!
Exchange Starter Pack
Before your departure, you will receive your Exchange Starter Pack with practical information about the next steps and our pre-departure checklist.
International SOS
Before your departure, remember to register and download the International SOS app. You will receive all the necessary information and activation details in advance.
Please note: International SOS is not a health insurance. You must have valid medical coverage for the entire duration of your stay abroad.

- Start the conversion process for the exams taken abroad
After your Exchange period ends, you will receive an email from Bocconi confirming that you are authorized to proceed with the recognition and grade conversion.

What to do after your Exchange
Transcript of Records
After your Exchange, you will need to wait for your official grades to be released by the host university.
Once you receive it, you can proceed with the recognition process through the Recognition Platform.
Please note that in some cases, the release of the Transcript may take several months. If you have specific needs, contact your host university in advance to check expected timelines.
Erasmus+
Please remember that your Online Learning Agreement must be approved and consistent with your Transcript of Records.
You will also need to complete the EU Survey, for which you will receive a direct link by email.

Erasmus+ After the mobility
Recognition
Once you are back at Bocconi and you have the Transcript of Records, you can ask for the conversion of the exams taken abroad.
You will be notified when your grades and credits have been officially transferred into your Bocconi career.
Relations and evaluations of the Exchange Program
After your return, our office will contact you to share your feedback on your Exchange experience.
Your comments are extremely valuable: they help us improve the program and provide useful insights for future students choosing their destinations.

- verify whether the chosen destination has already been attended by Bocconi students
- assess and recognize courses once you return, according to the academic recognition process
- forward transcripts bought through yoU@B to the final destination school via e-mail
The Study Abroad Office is not involved in nominations or in managing individual applications.
What is managed directly by students
The Free Mover semester allows students to independently organize an international experience.
As this is an independently arranged experience, students are responsible for:
- identifying and applying to the host institution
- completing the admission process and meeting deadlines
- complying with the host university’s academic and administrative procedures
Our role in the Free Mover process includes:
verify whether the chosen destination has already been attended by Bocconi students
evaluate ad hoc destinations
assess and recognize courses once back, according to the academic recognition process, provided you have secured a place at Punto Blu
forward transcripts bought through yoU@B to the final destination school via e-mail
The Study Abroad Office is not involved in nominations or in managing individual applications.
The Free Mover semester allows students to independently organize an international experience.
