3. Merit requirement: specific rules for calculating credits
- Bonus
In order to reach the minimum merit requirements needed, in addition to the credits already earned, all students, except first-year students, may use a bonus, as indicated below: - If students have never used a bonus previously, they can request bonus credits as indicated in the table above. Once students use bonus credits they no longer have the right to accrue other bonus credits.
- Once students use bonus credits, they still have the possibility to use any residual credits in future years.
- Students enrolled in Master of Science programs can use any residual bonus credits not used during their Bachelor of Science program. If they never used bonus credits during their Bachelor of Science program, they may use up to 15 credits.
- Calculation of credits
The number of credits needed to will be calculated based on the credits required for each past academic year, starting with the absolute first-year of enrollment[1]. This rule also applies to anyone who has interrupted the normal progression of the attended years of the program (e.g. students who repeat or have repeated the enrollment in a program year already attended, also after having withdrawn from studies or having transferred from other Universities or faculties, or for other interruptions), unless for “temporary interruptions”.
- Course change
For program changes, for calculating merit, only credits valid for the study program for which the benefit is requested or for the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science or Integrated Master program in which the student is enrolled in the 2022-2023 a.y. will be considered.
- Students with disability
Merit criteria for students with disabilities equal to or greater than 66% may diverge up to a maximum of 40% from the criteria set out. As an exception, these students may renew their housing even if enrolled for the first year fuori corso for a.y. 2022-23.
- PhD program
PhD students who meet the economic requirements can apply for housing renewal or new admission for a.y. 2022-23 if they have been regularly admitted for a.y. 2022-23.
It is the responsibility of the requesting student to verify that the credits incurred are actually registered by August 10, 2022 and to register for the academic year by the deadline. Those who, following verification by the Office, are found not to meet the requirements described above, will forfeit the assignment and if the students have already checked in, they must leave the residence by the day following the communication from the Office, and in any case no later than August 27, 2022 and will not be entitled to a refund of the deposit.
Only students assigned housing who meet the conditions outlined for the "Special Early withdrawal" and detailed on the dedicated page of the website may exercise this right according the methods and deadlines foreseen. Please check all the details on the dedicated page.
[1] The first
absolute year of enrollment shall be understood as any academic year of first enrollment in any kind of degree program (even if different from the one attended in AY 2022-2023) which required the same education qualification as the one needed to access the attended program in AY 2022-2023, in any University in Italy or abroad, even if the program has not been completed.
