Strings, Voices and Piano. A Leap into the Seventeenth Century
"The idea is to trace the history of music starting from the seventeenth century to the present day," says Giorgia Megliola, one of the organizers of the event A concert-to-go: I'm on, Live!, created as an initiative of BSMA (Bocconi Student Music Association).
The project includes a series of concerts to be held in the atrium of the Lions and will start on 11 November at 5:45pm with a session of music from the baroque and classical periods.
"We wanted to offer something that everyone could have the pleasure of listening to," reports Simone Colistra, who took part in the organization along with Giorgia, "it is not a closed-door concert with limited seating, it is an experience open to all, even to those who perhaps were not aware of the event, but happened to be passing by." So a sort of busking session within the university.
The program on Wednesday 11 features the performance of three groups of musicians, from Bocconi and from off campus: 4 strings, an opera duet with piano accompaniment and then a solo opera singer with piano. One of the groups will perform wearing period costumes to create a Baroque atmosphere.
"I love classical music and I'm thrilled by the idea of filling the hall even for an hour with music that at times, especially by young people, is defined as old-fashioned and boring. That is not the case, and those who stop to listen will understand it right away," says Giorgia. And we can hardly miss, because the musicians will perform works by Mozart, Gluck, Bach, Pachelbel, Charpentier and Boccherini.
The next date is on 18 November with the music of the nineteenth century.
