Speed MI Up. A Growing Family

, by Benedetta Ciotto
The five new companies selected by the incubator deal with: video games, customized electrical systems, polystyrene processing, on demand storage and the teaching of English

The family of Speed MI Up, the incubator born in collaboration between Bocconi University, Chamber of Commerce and the City of Milan, is expanding to five new business ideas. The aim is always to select fresh and innovative projects, to help entrepreneurs to build and strengthen their business ideas. A path that can take up to two years and that provides the opportunity to benefit from numerous services. "Right now we have 20 startups incubated", says Fausto Pasotti, Director of Speed MI Up. "If we look at all the work done to date, from June 2013 we have incubated 37 startups, some of which are already working very well, such as D1Milano and OneTray that are making good turnovers and Cercaofficina, which got good funding. And we also expect good results from the new entries".

The selected entrepreneurs will be placed in a stimulating environment in which they will work side by side with the others startup teams in the incubator and with the assigned tutors. "These are five innovative business ideas and all very different from each other", continues Pasotti . The new incubated companies are:

- Exgame, an e-commerce platform that allows users to trade used videogames, paying with a virtual currency, eliminating the classic steps of negotiating a sale.

- Lean Wiring, a service allowing customized electrical systems to be designed with the help of a simple and intuitive web interface.

- Gipat (Giovani imprenditori pronti a tutto), who invented and promoted an innovative technology that models polystyrene, a very cheap material, creating any desired shape.

- SaveTheBox, an on-demand storage service allowing users to free themselves from, and to catalogue, surplus objects, saving space and time.

- SchoolNextDoor, aimed at teaching English to children, using learning games and methodologies with a fun and multisensorial approach.

The Speed MI Up tender for the presentation of new business ideas opens again on March 7 (and closes on April 14). It will be an occasion for the 15 selected companies, aspiring entrepreneurs and/or freelance professionals to be supported in the realization of their business projects.
