The Paralympic Games Teach the Value of Diversity
A new event will be held on Thursday, March 12, at Bocconi University, in room N08 of the Leonardo Del Vecchio building, at Piazza Sraffa 13, at 5:45 p.m., as part of Bocconi Talks for the Olympic Movement. The event, “United for a More Inclusive World through Sport”, will be introduced by Dino Ruta, Rector's Delegate for the Olympic Movement and Professor of Practice in Leadership, Sports & Events Business, SDA Bocconi School of Management, and will feature Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), and Riccardo Calvi, Head of Company Communications at P&G Italy, and will be moderated by Nicoletta Balbo, associate professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi.
“The Paralympics convey one of the most powerful messages of our time: diversity is not a limitation, but a value. The Paralympic Movement teaches us that inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities are not abstract principles, but concrete levers for building a more equitable and sustainable society,” says Ruta.
“Embracing diversity, both physical and non-physical, means recognizing talent in all its forms and creating environments in which every person can express their potential. In this sense, the presence of the IPC President at Bocconi reinforces our commitment to promoting a culture of leadership that generates positive impact through sport.”
