Masaru Yoshitake's Piano at Bocconi
The piano concert, organized by the University in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti, will be held in the Aula Magna at Via Gobbi 5 on Thursday 17 November at 9pm. Taking the stage will be Japanese pianist Masaru Yoshitake, the recipient of multiple international awards.
The first part of the evening will be dedicated to music by Wolfgang A. Mozart, Piano Sonata No. 13 in B-flat major, K333; Robert Schumann, Songs of Dawn, Op. 133; Olivier Messiaen, 10 "Regard de l'Esprit de joie" from Vingt regards sur l'enfant-Jésus.
The second part will focus exclusively on Claude Debussy, 12 studies.
Admission is free but seats are limited.
The next concert is scheduled for Thursday 15 December with Coro Bocconi accompanied by Medit-lab Orchestra – Yevgeni Galanov (piano).
Born in Japan in 1986, Masaru Yoshitake began playing the piano at the age of 4 and made his orchestral debut with the Dvorák chamber orchestra at 12. He has been the recipient of many awards and has won several competitions, including the Lizuka Music Competition, the Artur Schnabel Music Competition in Germany, the International Music Competition in Geneva and the Music Prize of Matsukata Hall. He has also worked with numerous orchestras (Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Geidai Philharmoni, Kyusyu Symphony Orchestra and New Philharmony Orchestra Chiba). After graduating from the Tokyo University of Arts in 2009, he began studying at the Universität der Künste in Berlin on a scholarship from the Rohm Music Foundation. He has worked with many renowned professors such as Jacques Rouvier, Kenji Watanabe, Minoru Nojima and Andrei Pisarev and has participated in master classes with Klaus Hellwig, Pascal Devoyon, Sergey Dorensky, Pavel Nersessian, Akiko Ebi and Dina Yoffe.
