Mark Mizruchi and the Loneliness of the CEO
CEOs, the Chief Executives at American companies, suffer from a growing insecurity about the duration of their positions and are finding themselves faced with the strongest external pressure in the last ten years. The result, according to the paper CEO Ideology and Corporate Political Action: A theoretical and historical account by Mark Mizruchi, is a growing closure of company borders, which more often excludes the interests of the business community, association activity and collective initiatives. In other words, the political side of the position is being lost over the past few years.
Mizruchi, Professor of Sociology and Business Administration at the University of Michigan, will present his thesis during a joint seminar of the Bocconi Department of Management and the SDA Research Division. The seminar will be held on Tuesday 16 June at 1pm in room SR3P, Via Bocconi 8.
