Intersectionality Discussed at Openside with Adelita Husni Bey
Drama texts, sociology essays, works by other artists: all blended and reworked by Adelita Husni-Bey, Italian-Libyan artist and pedagogist, along with a group of 28 students from Bocconi and other universities, with the objective of creating a screenplay revolving around the concept of intersectionality and identity differences, after a week-long laboratory. This will take place from 11 to 18 April, just one of three activities that are part of the project, the classroom, created in collaboration with the ASK research center.
"It's a small art and educational project," explains faculty member Paola Nicolin. "Through Bocconi Arts Campus, we would like to bring artists to the center of a discussion on the history of art, its sources of inspiration, its methodologies and its intertwining paths, allowing students to meet the artist directly through a seminar-like event, while producing art without mediation."
After the classroom closes, Husni-Bey's latest video installation, "After the Finish Line," will be projected through Openside's windows. The video, which will be screened in a loop all night, focuses on the meaning of sporting competition and the origins of the pursuit of success
