Integration is possible and indispensable
In the classes and around the campus of the University, every day there is a tangible mixture of students from all over the world who bring different traditions that must be understood and integrated along with the others. So the idea of the photography competition was born: "Collecting photos to create a bridge between different cultures". The photos must represent moments of love, friendship, family events, work and any other collaboration among people from different counties and a description or story that tells something about the image to point out its values and significance.
All the photos collected by the association will be uploaded on social networks (Twitter and Facebook ) as they arrive at the e-mail address socialmedia@bocconicsa.com. It's possible, to like the photo you prefer, and it's important because the most "liked" photo will be the winner of the contest. At the end the photos and the stories will be printed and will be shownfrom 10- 20 March at the Velodromo, piazza Sraffa 13.
The idea was born, Erika tells, randomly "during the preparation of an exam" but also with a serious background. "We followed the idea of Facewall, after the events that happened in Prato in October, that started an initiative to exhibit in the city photos of integrated life, normal people from different cultures that encounter each others for jobs or love. Also we take inspiration from SONOCINESE facebook page, that published a photo-album about love, friendship or simply vacations in China".
Stories of integration unveiled is organized by CSA, but involves also RadioBocconi, BStudents Tv and other student associations, like WIB (Women in Business), that want to promote integration between Bocconi's students through their presence in associations. Elena Falcettoni, vicepresident of WIB, says "To be an association member is challenging and exciting, it is a way to create a friendship and relations network with so many students from Italy and also from all over the world. Foreigners born in Italy or second generation foreigners, and also students coming to Milan with the exchange programs".
