The FIAT Case History As Told by Alfredo Altavilla
SDA Bocconi School of Management's MBA Full-Time students were able to discuss the FIAT case history with Alfredo Altavilla FCA Chief Operating Officer EMEA.
In yesterday's Organization design in the information age class, Professor Ferdinando Pennarola, in the first part of the morning, described how FIAT developed until the arrival of new management, led by Sergio Marchionne, in 2004. The second part of the story was told by Altavilla, who's been a manager of the group since 1990 and has personally lived through all the changes.
Altavilla's speech was introduced by remarks by MBA Full-Time Director, Stefano Gatti, and was attended by the two MBA classes.
In front of an international audience, Altavilla told that his company is like a football team that changed both the players and the game plans.
