Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship: Andrea Colli Will Be in Florence This Fall
Starting in September, Andrea Colli(Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management) will move to Florence for three months to make his contribution as faculty member and researcher at the European University Institute (EUI), a university center dedicated to economics, history, law and social sciences with global authority. The Institute has awarded Colli with the Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship for this fall. "It's a very prestigious recognition for economic historians, and I'm very happy. From September to December I'll move to Tuscany and have the opportunity to interact with 'historian' faculty members and researchers, with the task of helping students analyze their graduation and PhD theses. During those months, I'll also organize seminars and workshops that deal with my subject."
The European University Institute (EUI) in Florence was founded in 1948 with the idea of creating a center for nuclear studies. Since the 1970s, it has been transformed into a European center for historical studies focusing on economics, the social sciences and in general focuses on the humanities with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges between faculty members and post-graduate students from all over the world. Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, followed by Denmark, Ireland and Great Britain in later years, make up the founding and financing nucleus of the institute which has hosted researchers of international fame and origins for over forty years.
