Economics: from Bocconi to the US and Vice Versa

, by Tomaso Eridani, translated by Alex Foti
The Bocconi Exchange Program with American universities is constantly growing. Now included are Ivy League institutions such as Princeton and Yale

Every year, more than 300 Bocconi students spend a semester in the US, studying in the best economics departments of the country. In the opposite direction, the same numver of Amrican students attend the Bocconi Campus, contributing to a lively trans-Atlantic academic and cultural interchange.

After many years of experience in drafting agreeements with US business schools, starting in 1974 with NYU's Stern School of Business and then including other powerhouses such as Harvard Business School and Berkeley's Haas, over the last few years Bocconi has considerably widened its offer of exchange programs with the best departments of economics in the United States. Fulvio Ortu, Dean for International Affairs, and the Bocconi service of International Relations must be credited with this achievement.

"We have recently worked a lot to expand exchange programs in economics with the best schools of the world," Ortu explains. "We have signed several agreements with top US economics departments, also leveraging the fact that many Bocconians teach there, which is in itself proof of the quality of our programs."

The latest agreements signed area about undergraduate exchange programs with Princeton, New York University e University of Pennsylvania, and graduate exchange programs with Yale.

"The agreement with Yale says that our MSc students can attend the first year of the PhD in Economics, one of the most prestigious in the world, as visiting students. This is another signal of Bocconi's international reputation," concludes Ortu.
