Bocconi's Third Program to Partner with the CFA Institute is BIEMF
The CFA Institute, the international association of professionals in the world of finance which assigns the prestigious title of Chartered Financial Analyst, has signed a new Program Partnership with Bocconi. The Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance (BIEMF), and especially those students majoring in finance, is thus the third accredited Bocconi program after the Bachelor of Economics and Finance and the MSc in Finance.
The partnership is granted to programs which cover at least 70% of the content necessary to take the CFA Program Exam level III, the highest level. The CFA Exam is now the most recognized certification in the world for finance professionals and each year around 77,000 candidates in 140 different countries participate with the aim of completing one of the three levels. The partnership therefore allows students to study for both graduation and the professional certification at the same time.
The CFA Institute has 100,000 members in 139 countries and a total of 105 Program Partners around the world. In addition to specific financial topics, 15% of the CFA Program Exam is targeted at ethical principles and professional ethics.
"Università Bocconi is the ideal CFA Program Partner thanks to the collaboration of this third degree program," said Nitin Mehta, CFA Managing Director Europe, Middle East and Africa. "In the current economic climate, it is essential for students studying financial subjects to understand ethics and integrity and adhere to these principles. It is important to involve students to create a better financial system for the future."
"This partnership is especially important for all of Università Bocconi, as the BIEMF welcomes students with different nationalities. These students now have the great opportunity of coming into contact with the CFA Institute even before graduation," explained Giovanni Valotti, Dean of the Bocconi Undergraduate School. "We share with the CFA Institute both a conviction of the extreme importance of personal integrity and a passion for improving the skills of anyone interested in a profession in the area of finance at an international level."
"I am pleased that the relationship between the CFA Institute, Università Bocconi and our society is continuing to grow," commented Barbara Valbuzzi, President of the Italian CFA Society. "By inviting students to come into contact with us at the beginning of their studies, we hope we can help them recognize the importance of continuous learning and help them become supporters of the values promoted by the CFA Institute."
The Italian CFA Society has recently announced that the first prize of the second edition of its Graduation Award has been assigned to Bocconi graduate Stefano Colonnello for his thesis "The Financial Crisis and the LIBOR-OIS Differential in the Euro Area and the United States: An empirical analysis."
