Bocconi's Future According to the International Advisory Council
The expansion of Bocconi's academic offer and the challenges that executive education has to face are the topics to be tackled by today's meeting of the International Advisory Council (IAC), the organism made up of international academics and businessmen, designed to provide Bocconi University with an European and global vision and as a stimulus to innovate.
The meeting was preceded, yesterday evening, by an informal talk with the Italian Minister of Economy, Pier Carlo Padoan.
This year's new entry into IAC is Paul Achleitner (Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Deutsche Bank AG), who will follow the Council's works along with Antonio Belloni, (Group Managing Director LVMH), Roland Berger (Honorary Chairman Roland Berger Strategy Consultants), Jean-Laurent Bonnafé (CEO BNP Paribas), Vittorio Colao (CEO Vodafone Group), Claudio Costamagna (Chairman Cassa Depositi e Prestiti), Alberto Cribiore (Vice Chairman Citi Institutional Clients Group), Enrico Cucchiani, (Founder and CEO TGI), Clara Furse (DBE, Financial Policy Committee Bank of England), Peter Löscher (CEO Renova Management), Alessandro Profumo (Chairman Equita SIM), Laura Tyson (Director Institute for Business & Social Impact, Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley), Jing Ulrich (Managing Director and Vice Chairman Asia Pacific JPMorgan Chase).
IAC's meetings are attended also by Bocconi's President Mario Monti, Rector Andrea Sironi, and CEO Bruno Pavesi.
The discussion about the expansion of the academic offer is focused on the new Bachelor in Economics, Management and Computer Science (BEMACS, starting in academic year 2016-17), a three-year undergraduate program taught in English, that IAC's suggestions contributed to devise. The debate will be preceded by a report presented by the program's Director, Emanuele Borgonovo.
The discussion about executive education will be introduced by the Dean for International Affairs, Stefano Caselli.
