Bocconi at Yale for the UN Colloquium on Preservation of Cultural Heritage
Bocconi is one of the 30 universities worldwide invited to participate in the Eighth UN Global Colloquium of University Presidents at Yale University (12-13 April) on Preservation of Cultural Heritage, to be opened by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon (live streaming here on 12 April, 10:30pm CET).
The colloquia are convened by the presidents of the six sponsoring institutions-Brown University, Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University-on behalf of and with the support and participation of the United Nations Secretary-General.
President Mario Monti and ASK (Art, Science and Knowledge) research center Vice-President Stefano Baia Curioni will represent Bocconi.
"Yale University hosts a prestigious Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage". Professor Baia Curioni says, "and one of the aims of the Colloquium is to establish a network of research centers working together on the topic".
The program includes a plenary session and parallel sessions for the presidents and faculty experts focusing on more specific topics. It will conclude with a plenary session on Wednesday, 13 April, afternoon with reports on the working session discussions.
Prof. Baia Curioni will deliver a speech on the protection of cultural heritage in times of political turmoil and one on sustainable conservation of cultural heritage, while President Monti will take part in a private session intended to lay down an institutional framework conducive to cooperation among the involved universities.
