Bocconi TV at the Venice Film Festival. A First Time to Remember
It's not every day you have the chance to enter in the press room of the Venice Film Festival as a correspondent, especially at the age of 20. But it has happened to Davide Caniatti (CLEACC), Giovanna Spiga (ACME), Luca Visentin and Marco Matteazzi (both CLEAM), chosen to represent Bocconi TV at the 73rd edition of the International Film Festival.
"It is the first time that the student media center participates in the Festival", says Giovanna, who also took part at the last Sanremo Festival with Bocconi TV. "It's a challenging experience: we have divided up the movies to see and the time to shoot and edit our reviews and interviews made in the city and to participate in press conferences is pretty short". Between reviews, the reporters of Bocconi Tv succeeded in interviewing Alessandro Aronadio and Daniele Parisi, director and protagonist of Orecchie - Ears, a black-and-white movie chosen for the Biennale College project, which each year selects 3 or 4 international projects and award them with a budget to make the film.
"Participating in the Festival as a journalist is a whole other thing" explains Davide. "Being there as a reporter makes you feel truly in touch with the great cinema. Meeting Wim Wenders on the street makes you feel just a lucky boy, but meeting him in this situation makes you feel close to his work".
The beauty of four cinema enthusiasts recounting the Venice Film Festival lies in their different opinions, sometimes conflicting, which color their reviews. "The movies I liked the most are Arrival by Denis Villeneuve and Nocturnal Animals by Tom Ford", says Luca. "I agree with him about Nocturnal Animals of which I appreciated the dramatic storytelling, but I also loved The Light Between Oceans by Derek Cianfrance for its photography and for the plot rich in unexpected moments", adds Marco. This is just a taste of their passionate storytelling of one of the oldest film festivals in the world. All contents are on the Bocconi TV Facebook page.
