On Thursday 7 May in the aula magna inn Via Roentgen, the final concert of the second edition of Isole Sonore

The closing concert of the second edition of Isole Sonore, Bocconi University’s music festival, in collaboration with Yamaha and directed by Cesare Picco, is entrusted to Bill Laurance, an internationally renowned artist and founding member of the jazz fusion group Snarky Puppy, with whom he has won five Grammy Awards.

Bill Laurance comes to Isole Sonore to present his highly personal musical journey on solo piano. A composer, pianist and keyboardist, Bill Laurence explored jazz, funk and drum’n’bass alongside classical music in his youth, going on to collaborate with artists such as Morcheeba, Salif Keita, Terence Blanchard, Susana Baca, Lalah Hathaway, Laura Mvula, Jacob Collier, Musiq Soul Child, Khalid Sansi, Chris Potter, Lionel Loueke and Carlos Malta, whilst also composing numerous ballets and film scores.

The event, entitled ‘Piano Solo’, will take place on Thursday 7 May at 9 pm in the Aula Magna of Bocconi University, Via Roentgen 1.

From October 2025 to May 2026, Bocconi University has organised a programme of seven free-entry concerts, made unique by leading Italian and international names on the concert scene. “With Isole Sonore, Bocconi has chosen music as the key to bringing the city into the University and creating an open meeting space,” says Silvia Tracchi, Director of Corporate Marketing & Communication at Bocconi University. “It is a concrete example of our third mission: building relationships with society and engaging a wider audience. Music, a universal language, makes this dialogue immediate and accessible, connecting different people, experiences and knowledge.”
