Alexander Ullman on the Piano
Young British musician Alexander Ullman, already well known at an international level, will take the stage of the Via Gobbi Aula Magna on Thursday 28 January at 9pm. The event will be held as part of the concerts organized by the Student Affairs Division - ISU Bocconi in collaboration with Furcht Pianoforti.
Pieces by Franz Joseph Haydn, Variations in F minor (Hob. 17/6); Maurice Ravel, Noctuelles Oiseaux triste from "Miroirs;" and Frédéric Chopin, Nocturne, Op. 27 n. 1; Nocturne, Op. 55 n. 1; Ballade n. 4 in F minor, Op.52 will be performed during the first part of the concert. The second part will include music by Franz Liszt, Sonata in B minor S. 178, Lento assai - allegro energico, andante sostenuto - quasi adagio, allegro energico.
Alexander Ullman was born in the UK in 1991 and studied at the Purcell School of Music under William Fong, Head of the Keyboard Trust. He graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia in May 2013. He has received many awards at international piano competitions. He has also completed tours in Europe and Asia, holding concerts in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, the Baltic Republics, Denmark, India and China. He has performed in the most important concert halls in the UK and the US and recently made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann Center in Philadelphia. In 2015, he held a recital at the Leipzig Gewandhaus and toured with the Dover Quartet in the UK, Spain, Germany and France.
