Winter Break: Library Closed from Dec 21 to Jan 4

Explore what’s still open to you — anywhere, anytime.

The Library will be closed for winter break from Sunday, 21 December to Sunday, 4 January included. On Saturday 20 December, Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 January, it will be open from 8.30am to 4pm (closing procedures start 30 minutes earlier).

Here’s what you can still do during the period in which the Library is closed for the holidays:

  • Access e-books, e-journals, and databases

Most resources are available online 24/7. Search for them through our SearchLib discovery tool and access them directly.

E-books and e-journals: look for the item you need in SearchLib and click the link to access the full text. Want to learn how to optimize your search? Check the SearchLib guide

Databases: did you know you can access most of our databases from home? Connect straight from our A–Z Databases page. Some databases require special access methods: always read the instructions provided below for each database name. Not sure which database fits your needs? Select your subject from the drop-down “subjects” menu and explore the recommended databases.

Newspapers: stay up to date with digital newspapers

  • Borrowed books

If you have borrowed books, don’t worry: during the holiday period loans do not expire. You can return them after the break.

  • Working on your dissertation?

To get started, you can take inspiration from the dissertations discussed over the years at our University: read the Consulting dissertations guide to learn how to access the dissertations archive from home.

Also consult our guide Writing your Dissertation/Thesis for suggestions on how to start gathering material for your thesis.

  • Need help while the Library is closed?

Check our LibGuides: they point you to the main resources depending on your subject area (marketing, finance, law, etc.) or on a specific topic of interest (artificial intelligence, sustainability, …). Other LibGuides are more practical, offering step-by-step instructions on how to use specific resources.

Visit B in Touch as well: you’ll find an entire section dedicated to the Library, with the most frequently asked questions (and answers!).

See you on Monday, 5 January at 8.30!

Happy holidays!
