How to reach the Bocconi Campus

If you arrive in Milan by plane, you are going to land at one of the following airports: Malpensa International Airport, Linate Airport or Orio Al Serio International Airport. Several services (public and private) connect Milan's city center with these airports.

 

From Malpensa Airport (T1 and T2) 

Airport Code: MXP
Distance from city center: 45Km
 

Taxi: it takes about 50 minutes and it costs around € 100 (fixed rate). For all further information on taxi please see the section below.
Malpensa Express (train) + public transport: it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Malpensa airport is easily connected to downtown Milan through the Malpensa Express Train (13€ single ride): you can choose to get off either at the Central Station or at Cadorna Station. For all further information on public transport see the section below.

  • If you take the train to the Central Station ("Centrale F.S."), from there you can take the metro (yellow line – direction "San Donato") to "Duomo" (4 stops). Then, go to the stop "Duomo" of tram n.15. Take tram n.15 in the "Rozzano" direction and get off at the stop "Porta Ludovica" (4 stops). 
  • If you take the train to Cadorna Station, from there you can take the metro (red line - direction "Sesto 1 Maggio FS") to "Duomo" (3 stops). Then, go to the stop "Duomo" of tram n.15. Take tram n.15 in the "Rozzano" direction and get off at the stop "Porta Ludovica" (4 stops). 

     

Malpensa Shuttle (bus) + public transport: it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. For all further information on public transport see the section below.
As an alternative to the Malpensa Express train, you can take the Malpensa Shuttle. The ticket costs around €10. From Central Station ("Centrale F.S.") you can take the metro (yellow line –direction "San Donato") and get off at "Duomo" (4 stops). From there you can go to the stop "Duomo" of tram n.15. Take tram n.15 in the "Rozzano" direction and get off at the stop "Porta Ludovica" (4 stops). 

 

From Linate Airport 

Airport Code: LIN
Distance from city center: 7Km

 

Taxi: it takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately € 15. Please keep in mind that the cost can vary depending on traffic conditions. 
Public transport: it takes about 30 minutes. Exit the airport following the directions for the metro station. Take the metro (blue line - direction "San Cristoforo") and get off at "Santa Sofia". From there, you can either walk or take the tram 15 (direction "Rozzano") and get off at stop "Porta Lodovica" (3 stops).

 

From Orio al Serio International Airport 

Airport Code: BGY
Distance from city center: 50Km

 

Taxi: it takes about 60 minutes. It cost around €120. Please keep in mind that the cost can vary depending on traffic conditions. For all further information on taxi please see the section below.
Orio Shuttle (bus) + public transport: by bus it normally takes one hour to reach the Central Station ("Stazione Centrale"). At this link you can find the list of all different bus providers that connect Orio Al Serio Airport with the Central Station. The price of the ticket is around € 12. From the Central Station ("Centrale F.S."), take the metro (yellow line – direction "San Donato") and get off at the stop "Duomo" (4 stops). Go to the stop "Duomo" of tram n.15. Take tram n.15 in the "Rozzano" direction and get off at the stop "Porta Ludovica" (4 stops). For all further information on public transport see the section below.

Trenitalia-Ferrovie dello Stato is the national railway transport service and has several stations in Milan.
 

Besides Trenitalia, Trenord is mostly a commuter rail and serves some of Milan’s neighboring cities such as Como and Varese as well as most of the northern Lombardy region. 

 

From Stazione Centrale FS (Central Railway Station)

Public transport: take subway (yellow line - direction "San Donato"), and get off at the stop "Duomo" (4 stops). Go to the stop "Duomo" of tram n.15. Take tram n.15 in the "Rozzano" direction and get off at the stop "Porta Ludovica" (4 stops). For all further information on public transport see the section below.

 

From Garibaldi Railway Stations

 

Taxi: it takes about 25 minutes and costs approximately € 20. Please keep in mind that the cost can vary depending on traffic conditions. For all further information on taxi please see the section below.
Public transport: take the metro (green line - direction "Abbiategrasso"), get off at stop "Porta Genova" (6 stops). From there take tram n.9 direction “Stazione Central FS” and get off at stop “Via Bocconi” (6 stops). As an alternative, take the metro (green line - direction "Abbiategrasso"), get off at stop "Sant'Ambrogio" (4 stops) and change with the blu line of the metro. Take the blu line (direction "Linate airport") and get off at "Santa Sofia" station (3 stops). From there, you can either walk or take the tram 15 (direction "Rozzano") and get off at "Porta Lodovica" station (2 stops).

How to get around Milan

Urban tickets allow you to use the entire urban ATM network, which includes busses, trams, the underground and rail network. A ticket costs €2.20 and is valid for a duration of 90 minutes on the whole Milan urban area

You can pay directly with your credit card at any metro station or on the bus/tram. As an alternative, you can be buy a rechargeable card at any tobacconist or newsstand shop, or at the vending machines at every underground station. The ticket must be stamped at the start
of every journey and is valid for 90 minutes after stamping. 

Tickets are available also online through the ATM app, or by sending an SMS with the message "ATM" to
the number 48444.

Outside every airport or station there is an area reserved for taxis. Taxis in Italy are white cars with a sign saying "TAXI" on top. If you decide to take a taxi, make sure to take an official one. Do not agree to a ride with any other driver who may approach you.
