Two Days for High School Talents
It is never too early to start thinking about the future. High school juniors should already start getting an idea of the university and the degree they would like to enroll to, to avoid making rushed decisions. This is the aim of Discover Your Talent: to offer Italian and foreign students in their second to last year of high school the possibility to enroll in an early selection session for admission to Bocconi for the academic year 2017- 2018 and to experience university life at the campus (here the requirements to be selected). More precisely, the program consists of two opportunities. First, students enroll (before June 8) in the early selection, planned for June 29. Secondly, they can decide whether to participate in the Summer Experience, which includes two days of lectures, group activities and guided tours (applications open until May 19).
Several Bocconi students have chosen to enroll also thanks to this initiative. One of them is Elettra Benzi, an Economia Aziendale e Management graduate, and now a student of the Marketing Management Master of Science: "I had heard something about Bocconi University, but I knew nothing about the campus and the courses, also because I'm from Genoa, the city where I attended high school", she says. "It was 2010 and it was very useful to participate because I had a taste of the courses and the teaching, for example I liked the studying of cases during class. Also, at that time I made friends with two girls, who then decided to enroll too, and we are still friends now. In short, we were university mates even before being it for real".
Eve Mucsi, now in her second year of International Economics and Finance, recounts a similar experience. She participated in Discover Your Talent in 2013, while still attending high school in Hungary, her birthplace. "I thought it was great to experience the university life before even knowing what course I would chose. I wrote my first resume and cover letter and they selected me to participate", she explains. "It's amazing to think that I had a break on one of the benches in the Ravizza Park even before being a student. Now I collaborate with the university to help raise awareness of the program to high school students, to whom I explain that if they don't know what to do in the future, participating in the program could help them get an idea".
