, by Fabio Todesco
At the international consortium ISBM and at ItAIS

Ferdinando Pennarola, associate professor of organization and management information systems at Bocconi and senior faculty member of SDA Bocconi, was re-elected chairman of the board of directors of ISBM (International Schools of Business Management) for years 2010-2012 on Sunday, October 17, at the 76th meeting of the board.

ISBM is a consortium of 11 economics and management schools founded at the end of the '60s by Harvard Business School. ISBM has been organizing for 40 years the ITP (International Teachers Program), a program about teaching and learning economics and management topics, directed at senior teachers. The program is held, in rotation, in one of the member schools.

Pennarola has been representing SDA Bocconi since 1993 in the ISBM board of directors and is its chairman since 2005. Under his tenure, the ITP program was held at IMD, SDA Bocconi and Kellogg School of Management. Furthermore, in 2010 a new school joined the consortium: the ISB (Indian School of Business) of Hydebarad, India. The previous additions had been Kellogg in 2000 and SDA Bocconi in 1989.

A few days earlier, on Saturday, October 9, at the annual ItAIS conference at Università Parthenope, Naples, Pennarola was elected ItAIS chairman for 2010-2012. ItAIS is the Italian chapter of AIS (Association of Information Systems), the leading scholarly association for information systems studies. The AIS world conference (ICIS – International Conference of Information Systems) will be held at Università Bocconi in December 2013.
