Bocconi places first in the Vision rankings on internationalization of Italian universities

The high mobility of students going abroad, the presence of international students enrolled and the attractiveness for international students as a place for study abroad periods and exchanges. These are some of the factors that has moved Università Bocconi to 1st place in the rankings on internationalization of Italian universities, recently presented by the Italian think tank Vision.

The ranking, a new analysis of annual classifications of Italian universities completed by Vision over the past few years, evaluated 76 Italian schools by looking at seven parameters: the number of international students; the number of outgoing students studying abroad; the number of incoming international students for study or exchange periods; the number of outgoing faculty for teaching or research abroad; the number of students from BRIC countries (Brazil, India, China and Russia), the US and the UK, Germany, France and Spain; cultural diversity on campus; and increases in international students over recent years.

In addition to 1st place in the final rankings, Bocconi was also recognized for number of incoming students (1st place), outgoing students (1st place) and presence of international students (5th place).

"This ranking demonstrates Bocconi's commitment to providing students a truly international environment, which began in the early '70s with the first agreements with foreign universities, creating a large international network, making it attractive to students from abroad," explains Fulvio Ortu, Vice Rector and Dean for International Affairs at Bocconi. "And Bocconi is continuing to work on new agreements on all fronts, from the creation of new and innovative international programs to the establishment of agreements with prestigious schools, such as recent agreements with Ivy League universities such as Yale and Princeton."
