Marche Means Culture and Arts for Bocconi Alumni
Arts, culture, opera: these are the three elements that have brought together the BAA Area Chapter of Ascoli-Fermo-Macerata, in the heart of the Marche region. "Marche is strongly oriented towards culture and so we have decided to reap this interest in the initiatives we organize," Daniela Martino, who graduated in Marketing from Bocconi in 1993, explains. Today she is partner in a professional firm, and has been Area Leader since 2007. This cultural focus has given rise in recent years "to a strong collaboration with the Arts, Media & Entertainment Topic of the Bocconi Alumni Association, which is coordinated by Professor Paola Dubini, and with the Sferisterio Arena of Macerata".
The last event before the summer break took place on July 25, when Aura Bertoni of the Bocconi ASK research center spoke in Macerata together with Francesco Micheli, artistic director of the Macerata Opera Festival, on the role that IT can play in ensuring the financial sustainability of opera foundations. After the discussion, the alumni watched the Rigoletto by Verdi being performed at the Sferisterio Arena. The promotion of opera and drama "has made the BAA Area visible as an association that contributes to local development," goes on Daniela, noting that tenors and sopranos are not the only interest of the group, however.
The other major area of intervention is career advice. In fact, the group has organized several career seminars in the Ascoli-Fermo-Macerata tri-city area. The four hundred Bocconi alumni that work in the three provinces are "independent professionals, entrepreneurs, and managers, mostly". They had the opportunity of discussing how to do job interviews and pursue career projects with Claudio Ceper . «The next rendez-vous is for December 17, with a seminar devoted to the perfect career," the Area Leader says.
