Manuela Brusoni Chair for the Public and Non-Profit Division of AOM
Manuela Brusoni (Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management) has been nominated Chair for the Best Article Award Committee in the Public and Non-Profit Division of the Academy of Management.
Founded in 1936, the Academy of Management is the oldest scholarly management association in the world and it is also the largest, since it now gathers 18.360 members from 109 nations.
The specific objective of the Public and Non-Profit Division of the Academy is to encourage analysis and research of management and policy issues in public and not-for-profit organizations and to disseminate research findings to the academic community. "The production of quality papers which endorse the Division's mission is crucial to the development of this field of the research," Brusoni says, "in order to make it attractive for an increasing number of scholars and let it contribute to the dissemination and to the comparison of collaborative practices that support economic growth."
Coordinating the reviewers' team of the Public and Non-Profit Division, professor Brusoni will have the task of selecting those papers which will be presented at next year's conference; the appointment will be officialized in the occasion of the Academy annual meeting, which is going to take place in Boston in August.
Brusoni's task is not an isolated contribution but joins the activity of the team of Bocconi and SDA teachers in Public Management, who have already played a crucial role for the Academy in the last years: the institution of Masini Award, wanted by Elio Borgonovi in 2009 to disseminate some innovative aspects of his outstanding collegue's lesson, the important tasks assigned to Emanuele Vendramini and Veronica Vecchi's job for the organization of a series of Professional Development Workshop have already contributed to reinforce the presence of Bocconi's academics in the international scenario.
