, by Fabio Todesco
A paper about procedural justice in dispersed work teams obtains the OCIS Division Best Paper Award
Thanks to Alleviating the Perils of Dispersion: A Study of Procedural Justice Climate and Team Innovation, Massimo Magni (Department of Management and Technology) won theOrganizational Communication and Information Systems (OCIS) Division Best Paper Award at the Academy of Management Meeting in Boston (3-7 August), with co-authors Manju Ahuja and Likoebe Maruping (University of Louisville).
The paper explains how the perception of fairness in dispersed teams members' interactions mitigates the challenges posed by dispersion in influencing innovation. "Absent such perception", Magni says, "the team members tend to pursue other goals, yielding to local, compelling pressures".
