Giving Time and Money to Bocconi

, by Andrea Celauro, translated by Alex Foti
Federico Tasso is the senior Vice President of Igt Group and international coordinator of the Bocconi Alumni Association. He has decided to donate to the scholarship program supporting poor students, to make a difference

«Every donation in the service of an ideal, such as supporting the university training of students, is a way of making a difference for a better future», says Federico Tasso, MBA alumnus, to explain his decision to supplement his involvement in the Bocconi Alumni Association (BAA) with a financial contribution to the University. As a former student, he's been very close to the Bocconi community: he's been sitting on the BAA Board since 2010, and for six years he's been working pro bono as coordinator of the foreign chapters of the association. «In these years of hard work to completely renew the alumni association, I understood that I had to donate something more than my time to Bocconi,» Federico remarks and adds: «Anybody can leave a mark no matter the sum involved. As a board member I'll do everything in my power to make the culture of giving and supporting higher education widespread in Italy and Europe, thereby prevailing over hesitations still existing among individuals and institutions ».

Tasso, who works as Senior Vice President Worldwide Operator Business Development at Igt Group, has just renewed his donation to Una Scelta Possibile [A Feasible Choice], the scholarship program that enables students from disadvantaged households to enroll at Bocconi by paying for their tuition and accommodation.

«Bocconi has a reputation for ethical integrity and accounting transparence which have persuaded me the money will be better spent than in other initiatives: I just wish that supporting your alma mater would become a natural gesture for all alumni,» Tasso concludes.
