Eliana La Ferrara To Deliver the Tenth JEEA-FBBVA Lecture
Eliana La Ferrara, Fondazione Romeo ed Enrica Invernizzi Chair in Development Economics, has been chosen by the European Economic Association (EEA) to deliver the tenth Journal of the European Economic Association–Fundación BBVA Lecture (JEEA-FBBVA Lecture) at the Allied Social Sciences Association (ASSA) Meeting in Boston in January 2015.
In July 2004 EEA and Fundación BBVA agreed to organize an annual lecture to be delivered "by a world-class economist on a relevant topic" and in August 2005 the first Lecture was held by Jean Tirole at the Econometric Society World Congress in London. Since 2007 the Lecture has been held at the ASSA Meeting, within the annual American Economic Association congress. The Lecture is published as a leading article in the Journal of the European Economic Association.
The list of past speakers includes Tirole, Paul Seabright, Alberto Alesina, Jordi Galì, Richard Blundell, Daron Acemoglu, Ernst Fehr, John Van Reenen and Jean-Charles Rochet.
